Shanghai Submarine Museum (Huangpu Branch of the China Maritime Museum) Phase I Opening

4月23日，上海潜艇展览馆(中国航海博物馆黄浦分馆）展览一期在黄浦滨江3号船坞开幕。未来，展览馆将通过陈列展览、社会教育、文化活动及相关配套服务，积极发挥爱国主义和国防军事教育功能，努力打造成为符合上海国际大都市定位、在国内乃至国际具有影响力的退役舰艇展示平台。

市拥军优属基金会理事长周太彤，市政府副秘书长王为人，黄浦区委书记杲云，以及市交通委、市退役军人事务局、黄浦区和上海地产集团的相关负责同志出席开幕仪式。仪式上，与会领导共同启动潜艇展览馆展览一期开幕装置，杲云致辞。

本项目于2021年4月启动。通过层层筛选，芬兰PES建筑设计事务所的设计提案，获得竞赛第一名，有幸负责本项目的建筑设计工作。首席设计师之一的优睿·埃斯科拉 （Jyri Eskola）向领导介绍项目设计理念。

此次先期建成的展览一期与江岸有机结合，打造简洁的建筑外形、合理的空间尺度。潜艇内部设置了参观动线，可以让参观者沉浸式体验到潜艇官兵当年的工作及生活场景。坞底的水景设计呈现了逐渐起伏的地形和水位高低变化，还原船坞历史风貌。

据悉，自4月25日起，上海潜艇展览馆（中国航海博物馆黄浦分馆）展览一期将适时向公众开放参观，具体参观事项将通过“上海潜艇展览馆”微信公众号发布。

On April 23, the phase I of Shanghai Submarine Museum (Huangpu Branch of China Maritime Museum) was opened at No. 3 Dockyard along the Huangpu River. In the future, through various displays and exhibitions; social education, cultural activities and related supporting services, the museum will strive to become a significant decommissioned venue display platform, in line with the positioning of Shanghai international metropolis and influential in China and in the world.

Mr. Zhou Taitong, Chairman of the Municipal Military Support Foundation, Mr. Wang Weiren, Deputy Secretary General of the municipal government, Mr. Gao Yun, Secretary of Huangpu District and relevant responsible comrades from the Municipal Transportation Commission, Municipal Veterans Affairs Bureau, Huangpu District and Shanghai Real Estate Group attended the opening ceremony. At the ceremony, the leaders launched the opening device of the first phase, and Gao Yun delivered a speech.

This project was started in April 2021. Through a selection process, the design proposal of PES- Architects won the competition and was honored to be responsible for the architectural design of the project. Jyri Eskola, one of the lead designers, presented the project concept to the leaders.

The first phase of the exhibition, which was now opened, is organically integrated with the existing dock to create a powerful architectural experience. The interior of the submarine is set up for visitors which allows to immerse in the working and living scenes of submarine personnel back then. The waterscape design at the bottom of the dock presents the gradually undulating terrain and the change of water level to suggest the historical appearance of the dockyard.

The Shanghai Submarine Museum (Huangpu Branch of the China Maritime Museum) will be open to the public on 25^th April.
