New seating areas designed for West Terminal 2 

PES为赫尔辛基西港2号码头设计了一套多功能座椅岛，给出入港旅客营造了一个舒适的乘船环境。

西港2号码头于2017年竣工，是赫尔辛基至塔林航线上，欧洲最繁忙的轮渡连接点之一。

在最初设计中，最大化的开放空间打造了一个宽敞的侯船室，以确保应对繁忙的客流及提高出入港的通勤效率。但是根据旅客的实际反馈需求，增设了座椅。新座椅的设计充分呼应了原松木天花板的设计，彰显了对细节的考量。

新的座椅岛由三个岛屿组成，当你坐在座椅上，透过大厅高耸的玻璃幕墙欣赏到壮丽的海景，非常悠闲。 这些岛屿由重叠的圆形木元素组成，最上面的一层用黑色或灰色皮革包裹着，让人想起点缀在芬兰群岛上的礁石。座椅还配备了移动设备的充电插座。 中央的座椅岛是可以拆卸的，可以用作小舞台或临时展览的支架。

这些座椅是由PES的Kai Lindvall 带领的室内设计团队设计的。

PES-Architects has designed a set of multifunctional seating islands for the comfort of passengers departing from West Terminal 2, Port of Helsinki. Completed in 2017, West Terminal 2 serves one of the busiest ferry connections in Europe on the Helsinki-Tallinn route. The spacious departure lounge was initially designed to be as open as possible for safety and efficiency, but based on traveller feedback, additional seating was designed in keeping with the spirit and fine detailing of the timber-ceilinged hall.

The new seating areas take the form of three islands, suitable for casual lounging, with a magnificent view of the sea through the lobby's high glass walls. The islands are made up of overlapping round wood elements, the top ones leather-clad in black or grey, reminiscent of the skerries dotting the Finnish archipelago. The islands are also equipped with charging outlets for mobile devices. The central seating island can be disassembled for use as a small stage or stand for pop-up exhibitions.

The seats were designed by our interior design team led by Kai Lindvall.
